How important is ABET accreditation for the field of computer engineering?

Not nearly as important as it is for civil or mechanical engineering. I'm not sure how many computer engineers actually take the PE exam, but I would assume that it's not very many. I'm really surprised that a school like UNC Chapel Hill doesn't have that particular accreditation.
