Does marijuana really make someone drive better?

I laugh everytime someone tells me this and find it ridiculous. They are saying they drive better high than sober. I know from past experience, yes I would drive slower but my judgment was impaired (distance of objects, sometimes forget where I am and have to remind myself) and I was always paranoid about turning the wrong way on a street (like a one way) and changing lanes. I know personally an old friend of mine who almost hit a car on the wrong side of the street and an aunt who took all the wrong streets to her house and got lost. I mean if someone is driving slow and trying to change lanes, the cars would be coming up faster and their judgment of distance would probably be off. So, is this just a load of bull or is there backup evidence for this?
