If E-Bay assists in aiding and abetting criminal activity do the regular terms of the contract still apply?

I purchased a copy of "Windows 7 Ultimate" on E-Bay. I have just discovered, two months later, that the copy I purchased was counterfeit. Since the sale of counterfeit goods is illegal doesn't this also make E-Bay guilty of aiding and abetting an "illegal" transaction? The reason I ask is because it took me 60 days to discover my copy was illegal and E-Bay imposes a completely arbitrary time window of 45 days in which to dispute any transaction. But if the transaction itself is illegal to begin with can E-Bay still impose and enforce the 45-day time window limitation for reporting disputes?
