What are psychiatrists' opinion about meat eaters?

Am i right saying that our actions in psychiatry are judged by effect on ourself, society and others. Isn't any action of a person that is not necessary like eating meat when eggs and milk are available that is brutally slaughtering animals (harming others) and abetting violence a psychiatric problem. Then why are psychiatrists and government silent?
