My computer is acting up.?

Here's the problem, I was using safari browsing the internet, when I got a pop up from (what I assumed was) my task bar. It was the usual update stuff with nothing fancy attached. then after it finished I turned off my computer. the next day I go to turn it on and off my firewall is acting up telling me that safari isn't trustable and i can't get to the internet through safari (or Google Chrome, firefox, etc.) The only internet source that it "allows" is internet explorer. I am not technologically impaired or anything, I went to and through my firewall settings and everything was allowed (everything mentioned anyway ). Also I have Norton, and it is messed up to the point where it won't respond to anything, only the uninstaller loads up, and then crashes. Please help.

Getting into Graduate School?

So I really want to get into a top tier graduate school (preferably Stanford) when I finish my undergraduate. I'm a dual Electrical Engineering and Computer Science major with an emphasis on Robotics. During my undergraduate, I've published two research papers at well known robotics conferences. I have one year before, and I currently have a 4.0 GPA (okay 3.98 because of a humanities course freshman year :P). I also plan on publishing at least one more research paper at the end of this summer. The reason I'm worried is that my undergraduate is being completed at a relatively unknown university (just barely top 200), it's ABET accredited and such. I'm just curious if anyone has any insight about how likely someone like me is to get accepted for a PhD with a payed research assistantship to a place like Stanford?

I will randomly get very lightheaded, flushed, start sweating, my hearing gets impaired and start hearing like static speakers (kind of the feeling of on a plane when ears need popped), dizziness (sometimes like I am spinning, other times like the world is spinning). Why are my ears ringing?

I don't listen to much music, and when I do its at low volume and usually soft classical type music. I listen to it primarily at night, but only for like 10 minutes. Seems sometimes disoriented on the phone, out of bed and dressed at 4 a.m., etc. Blood tests reveals anesthesia still in the bloodstream but doctor said to come back for a recheck in 2 weeks and if its still there, I suppose they will do something more. We thought at first that he had a stroke but apparently its leftover anesthesia or a side effect of it. I suppose someone could even mistake it for early dementia. Has anyone seen this before? they would probably be encouraged to be homeschooled but in my school kids that find it difficult to walk are accompanied by a guide to help them in busy corridors, I guess if yu were blind you would need that constatly. Her ex boyfriend (children's father) was recently charged with conspiracy to distribute excess of 5 kilos. He does not read or write english and she has not spoken to him in 3 months prior to his arrest..and their relationship was not pleasant and they did not speak regularly for the past 2 years or so. He called her house to speak to her children a week later and she asked him what was going on and if he understood what he was facing. She then proceeds to clear up his misconceptions. he thought he was under investigation for a year, but she said no its only been 5 months according to the paperwork. She told him who the confidential sources were because he was unsure of who one of them were, and she knew because of the word in the street. She also asked him why he lied to her about money a CS was claiming was a drug debt owed to her kids father..when he told her the money was a loan to start a business. He then said the CS was lying and the money he owed her kids father was indeed a loan to start up his business. My friend was charged 2 days later for aiding and abetting and released the same day and placed on probation. She said the main focus of the probation was that the DEA did not want her to speak to her kids father at ALL! FOR NO REASON because it was against the law because now they are "co defendants" Since this was convo was on a federal phone (prison) and being monitored. Do you think the feds did not like her helping him to clearly understand what was being done and by who and for how long, etc...and that is why she was charged? What do you think she is facing? Do you think they will drop the charges on her once his case is over? It would depend? Idk if I would ever have a boyfriend that's hearing impaired, but there was one woman I knew who was partially deaf in both ears, and I never even knew she was deaf till, like 3 years after I met her when she told me. I mean, she usually couldn't hear people if they were not talking in front of her, unless they were yelling, and she did have to ask people to repeat themselves a lot, but I never really had a problem with it. I would think it would be easier to be around someone who's partially deaf, as opposed to just deaf, though, because I don't know if anyone who's 100% deaf can be helped with hearing aids.

Every Saturday I take two 5mg percocets to get high. I don't believe it's a problem and I am certainly not addicted. I mean seriously... Once a week is no harm! I have been doing for about 10 months now and I am extremely disciplined in my consumption. I know too much about the drug and its addictive properties. Caution and strong control is my priority. No tolerance has been built or anything. I get the same feeling every time I do 10 mgs. I do it because it gives me energy (oddly) and it eliminates my anxiety. Should I transfer from a Mechanical Engineering program that is not yet accredited?

I am currently a sophomore attending a public university in Texas. The Mechanical Engineering program is not yet accredited, but the chair has said the university intends to apply for a visit by ABET in January of 2012. If things go well, ABET should then come out in the fall of 2012, and the program could be accredited in the summer of 2013. I am on track to graduate in the spring of 2013. New driving law in the state of Indiana: Driving sheet?!?!?!?

I have severe hearing loss. 85% of my hearing is gone. I had meningitis when i was 2 yrs old which resulted in my loss of hearing. I am 28, so i have been wearing hearing aids for 26 years. I requested special accommodation to allow me to hear better, which is why they put me on unpaid suspension so they could order something for me. Im not sure its even right to put me on unpaid suspension since i provided all my medical evidence to them before being hired for the job. Does my employer have the right to fire me because of my hearing condition. I am a seventeen year old male and am roughly 6'3. I hate being tall for two reasons: one is that I don't like to stand out, and in being tall I am the most conspicuous of any group. Secondly, I prefer short girls, and it is really hard to do anything with them without impairing my height (bend my knees like crazy when dancing, arching my back during sex, etc.). Yes, I have suffered from vision impaired problems in the past during my high school career and took full course loads in AP and IB classes. I think you do have a right to exam exemption OR accommodations which is what they would do for me. For sure, talk to a counselor/advisor/principal whoever before it adversely affects your GPA. Trust me i know this. I completely understand the doctors visits, more than average. Make your teacher/counselor aware of this, they will care more about you, and will be nicer to you in your course loads. it worked for me. They also provide a homeschool teacher for free who will help you in your school work and will turn your work in for you.

I laugh everytime someone tells me this and find it ridiculous. They are saying they drive better high than sober. I know from past experience, yes I would drive slower but my judgment was impaired (distance of objects, sometimes forget where I am and have to remind myself) and I was always paranoid about turning the wrong way on a street (like a one way) and changing lanes. Starting Legion Ball tonight, nervous, Christians please help?

Ok. I'm Starting a 16-19 year old Legion Baseball team tonight, which is extrememly competetive. Whats worse, is that i got cut from spring ball this year as a junior for the second straight year. Im the youngest kid this summer and probably the one with the least amount of ability. Even the coach said if i sign up i probably wont get alot of playing time, or pretty much none. My motives for playing ball has always been because i love it, and that i just want to go out and have fun, try my best (thus giving glory to the Lord). I'm actually not that bad, i just get extreme stage fright (EVEN during practice). This impairs me, because i'm not focusing on making the play, but how all of my friends and buddies will laugh if i miss it. I desperately want to get past this so i can have a fun summer league season. Although it seems you have high academic achievements you did not mention if you have attained your E.I.T. certificate. Being an E.I.T. as an entry level engineer is almost required if you want to find a job where you can move up in the field. I would recommend signing up for this test if you haven't already. If you have taken the test and haven't passed there are opportunities at the city, state, and federal levels that don't require E.I.T. certification. The job market has been suffering due to the economy in the last few years. Private sector jobs are limited as the economy is not fully recovered. I would suggest broadening your job search to areas with more infrastructure development and even looking at openings in the local government or with the Army Corp of Engineers, FEMA, or EPA. If you are not already familar I would suggest taking a course in AutoCAD drafting or highlighting your profenciency in other design programs you may have used in college on your resume. As an engineer you will have to learn to use several designing programs in your career.
